Downtown Toronto Cat Clinic provides veterinary surgical care and services for cats. Using state-of-the-art equipment and an experienced team, we’ll provide your cat with high-quality surgery in a safe, stress-free, and relaxing environment.

Our team of skilled veterinarians and technicians is ready to provide your pet with a range of surgeries. Each procedure consists of a thorough pre-surgical physical exam conducted by a veterinarian, surgical monitoring, and lots of TLC throughout the day.

Anesthesia and Monitoring

Anesthesia, patient monitoring, and pain management may vary between clinics. We use the safest anesthesia based on your cat's breed, age, health, and the procedure performed.

All our surgeries have intravenous fluids during their procedure. By administering IV fluids, we are able to support an appropriate blood pressure which ensures adequate blood perfusion to the major organs and we have immediate venous access to administer additional pain medication should it be required and, more rarely, appropriate drug therapies for emergencies.

During surgery, we use state-of-the-art monitoring equipment, such as blood pressure monitors to monitor your pet's vital signs, and other machines to measure heart rate, respiratory rate, and temperature. The anesthetized patients are closely monitored by our technicians.  Following anesthesia is an important time for monitoring too and we make sure your cat receives the needed attention during this time. Monitoring these vital signs allows us to intervene earlier and prevent anesthetic risk to your cat. We administer pain medication as needed to keep the cats as comfortable as possible.
